Rolling with Mother Nature’s plan looks like cloud/weather books and materials to make cloud paint. We created the paint by mixing shaving cream and elmers glue, and it was so cool to see the variety of cloud interpretations come to life on paper!

From documentation by our wilderness day teacher/facilitator: “Continued conversations about trees and our favorite tree that fell down, I introduced the idea of identifying the trees. I wonder if they know what types of trees they climb on, and what they know about other trees we spend our days with?” 🌳 As we do at TKG, this is an ongoing, evolving conversation between learners and guides. T here was a tree H e was as tall as could E veryone loved to climb him T all not small R are and fair E very spring the birds would sing E very day we like to swing N ow we have no place to swing A nts all over M emories we shared E veryone loved you D on’t be sad B eautiful green leaves I love you big tree G ood bye big tree 🌳 From our community ceremony in honor of Big Tree - there is no doubt that our children are grieving this loss and yet, there is hope that they will continue to respect the land they live with and repair the damage their elders have done.
