The Knowing Garden in the ‘23-’24 school year is offering an outdoor school with options for core learning in the mornings and enrichment in the afternoons. Learning will take place at our outdoor classroom (“The Annex”) & Wilderness Park. The school year will be broken into sessions (6-7 week periods) to allow for transitions of themes and projects. Each session will coincide in a community event and/or field trip. See quarter themes below.
Enrichment: Hands-On Learning and Projects happens every day from 12:00-2:00pm. Sign up for the days that suit you best!
Mondays & Thursdays: Wilderness Park Outdoor Enrichment (Art, Ecology, Social Studies)
Tuesdays: STEM learning @ TKG Annex (hands-on lessons)
Wednesdays & Fridays: Passion Projects @ TKG Annex (including social-emotional & growth mindset elements)

Themes:
September & October – Focused on cultures, community, and creativity. Includes field trip, Poetry Slam & Mask-a-Rave Celebration.
November & December – Focused on wildlife, climate change, and indigenous life. Includes field trip, Gratitude Feast and Passion Project celebration.
January, February, March – Focus on advocacy & scientific thought. Includes Peace Walk, Activist Profile, and Thinker’s Fair.
April, May, June – Focus on business, innovation, careers, and role of money. Culminates in Entrepreneur Fair and Celebration of Learning.
