SPRING Camp Apr 10-14: Literature Alive!

April 10-14

LITERATURE ALIVE is a day camp for spring breakers between the ages of 5-12.  This day camp focuses on bringing classic children’s books to life through theater and reinactments of highlighted moments with tangible, interactive play, crafting and creating.  All reading & non-reading levels welcome.

We will focus on a different story each day Monday through Thursday.  We will read the story in various formations and familiarize ourselves with the characters, plot, conflicts, relationships and lessons learned.  Through dialogue and theatrical play we will start to feel the story coming alive for us as we delve deeper into the world of the story.

After lunch and an outdoor body break we will engage in numerous activities preparing to reenact a particular scene or summary of the story. Activities include dressing up, building sets, crafting props, cooking low-no sugar recipes (vegan options can be available on request), writing scripts, treasure hunts, pyjama parties, partner play and guided imagination games.

We will then vote on the 4 stories and select the favorite story to further develop on Friday.  This will culminate in an intimate performance for families at pick-up.

Camp hours are 9:00am – 3:00pm at TKG.  Drop off will be 8:45am with sign-in and Pick-up will be 3:15pm with sign-out.
