JULY

TKG Skills CAMP – Reading & Study Skills (Ages 10-12)

July 9-13 from 9 to 1pm.
This skills camp will help students in grades 5 and 6 or ages 10, 11 and 12 improve reading and study techniques including: comprehension, retention and note-taking with an emphasis on techniques that work for the individual, not just standardized techniques.

SUMMER FILM FESTIVAL

July 23-27 from 9.30am to 1pm.

Ages 9-12. Films in the genre of “Action/Adventure” will be screened, discussed and re-imagined. Each student will learn about the art of curation and programming for inclusion. All films will be family rated. Pack a snack and lunch. Facilitator: Trish Valdez

CAMP THINKER FAIR

July 30-Aug 3 9 to 12pm.

Ages 5/6. Join TKG’s tradition of “alt” science fairs where instead of ribbons and standardized projects you get ART, STEM and SCIENCE adventures! Facilitated by Heather Kornman

AUGUST

TKG Skills CAMP – Ethics & Society (Ages 10-12)

August 6-10 from 9 to 1pm.

This skills camp will help students practice the life skill of organizing your thoughts and presenting them effectively. Various ethical dilemmas will be examined and students will be challenged to think critically as individuals and in a small group.

BECOMING AN ACORN

August 13-17 9 to 12pm.

Ages 5/6. This is week is for students who want to get ready for TKG. Whether you are enrolled full-time in the Fall or not, this will be a week of learning, loving and community. Facilitated by Heather Kornman.

Field day with The Knowing Garden is designed to deepen students’ connection to nature. Studies show that people who engage with nature regularly are healthier, have an enhanced awareness and become lifelong stewards of the earth.
